The short version

This website has no cookies, no analytics, no tracking and no ads. Lokus runs on your machine and keeps your conversations on your disk. It has no telemetry and no analytics; the one thing it asks my server is whether a new version is out. The only personal information I get is what Payhip passes along when you buy something.

Who I am

Redesign3DP (RD3DP) is a one-person business in the USA. When this page says "I," that's me. You can reach me at rd3dp.support@gmail.com.

This website

The site is plain static pages. It sets no cookies and runs no analytics, tracking or ad scripts. It loads no third-party scripts or fonts; the fonts are hosted on the same server as the pages.

Like any web host, the server keeps standard logs: your IP address, the pages you requested, and your browser. Those logs are kept by the hosting company for security and to keep the site running. I don't use them to track or profile anyone.

The "copy email" button copies my address using your browser's clipboard. It happens on your device and nothing is sent anywhere.

YouTube videos

The videos on the Lokus page are click-to-load. Nothing from YouTube loads until you press play. When you do, the video loads from youtube-nocookie.com and YouTube's own privacy policy applies from that point.

Buying through Payhip

Sales go through Payhip. Payhip and its payment processors (Stripe and PayPal) handle checkout. Your card details never reach this site or me.

Payhip shares a few things with me as the seller: your email address, your name if you gave one, what you bought, and the order details. I use them to deliver your purchase, answer your emails, and handle refunds. Payhip also handles EU and UK VAT collection. Payhip's own privacy policy covers what it does with your data.

What Lokus connects to

Update check. Once a day Lokus downloads a small file from this website that says what the newest version is. The request carries nothing about you: no account, no ID, no usage data. Like any web request, it reaches the server with your IP address, which ends up in the host's standard logs described above.

Setup and models. When you use them, the setup steps and model downloads connect to Ollama (ollama.com) to install Ollama and fetch models. Signing in to Ollama is optional and happens on Ollama's own website.

Nothing else by default. No telemetry, no analytics, no crash reports. Read-aloud voices and speech recognition run on your own computer.

License activation. Starting with version 1.3, Lokus asks once for the product key from your Payhip receipt. Activating sends three things to this website's activation service: the key, a computer ID, and your computer's name. The computer ID is a one-way scramble (SHA-256) of the ID your operating system gave itself when it was installed. It can't be turned back into that ID, and it is not a hardware serial number. The computer's name is the one you gave it, such as "Office PC (Windows)", or just "Linux computer" if it has none. It lets me tell your two computers apart if you write for help.

The service checks the key with Payhip and remembers which computers the key is active on, with the dates each was activated and last checked. It stores a scrambled form of the key, not the key itself. After that, Lokus works offline. About once a month, when you're online, it repeats the check with the same three things, so a refund or a "Reset my computers" takes effect. "Deactivate this computer" and "Reset my computers" send the same three things. If the service can't be reached, Lokus keeps working. Your IP address reaches the server like any web request. The service never stores it: to slow down anyone guessing keys it keeps a one-way scrambled form of it, which can't be turned back into the address, and clears it after ten minutes, the next time the service is used.

Your conversations

Lokus stores your conversations as plain files on your own disk. They are never sent to me.

With a local model, your conversations never leave your computer.

If you choose a cloud model instead, such as an Ollama cloud model or an OpenAI-compatible API like OpenRouter or DeepSeek, your messages go directly from your machine to that provider, under that provider's terms. I never see them.

Children

This site and my products aren't directed at children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, I'll update this page and the date at the top.
