What it is
Built for the machine you already own.
Most chat front-ends assume your model lives in somebody's data center. Lokus assumes the opposite. Point it at whatever you're already running locally and it gives you four rooms to use it in: a chat with characters worth talking to, a quest table with a Dungeon Master, a code workshop that builds and tests real projects, and a Hub where the finished ones wait to be played. If you'd rather use a hosted model, it talks to any OpenAI-compatible API too.
Over-valued and under-priced, on purpose. Lokus does the work of several subscription apps for one $15 payment, because good software shouldn't be priced out of anyone's reach. I believe you should own the programs you run, with no subscription, no account, and no big-tech server standing between you and your own tools. There's no cloud tier, no usage meter, and no version of this that starts charging you monthly.
And it talks back. Replies can be read aloud by natural voices that run on your own processor, not a cloud service. A tool you enjoy opening is a tool you actually use.
What's in it
Four rooms. One fifteen-dollar app.
Characters worth talking to
Pick from a library of ready-made characters, each with a portrait and a voice of their own, or describe one in a sentence and let the model write the rest. Give them a memory and they keep it.
- Read aloud with a narrator voice for actions and a separate voice for speech
- Your model, your rules: system prompts, personas and parameters per chat
- Every conversation saved as a plain Markdown file on your disk
A Dungeon Master that keeps the books
Three hand-built adventures are ready to play, and Quest Forge turns a single plot idea into a new one. The Dungeon Master narrates, asks for rolls when it matters, and tracks your hit points, gold, experience and gear as the story happens.
- Real dice, d4 to d20, that the DM cannot fudge
- Narration read aloud as each scene unfolds
- Undo a turn and the character sheet rewinds with it
Heroes that carry their story
Roll up a Fighter, a Rogue or a Mage, choose a portrait, or describe your hero and let the AI draft them. Experience, gold and equipment follow your hero from one quest to the next.
- Portrait library and illustrated item art built in
- Starting gear matched to each calling
- Heroes are saved on your computer and yours to keep
Describe a game. Watch it get built.
Tell the model what you want and it plans the work in stages, writes real project files, then opens the result in a test window to check its own work. When something breaks, it sees the error and fixes it before handing it back.
- Multi-file projects in an ordinary folder you can open anytime
- Drop in your own images, music and 3D models
- One-click Launch, plus game controller setup
Everything you build, on one shelf
Every game and web app that passes a play test lands in the Hub with a picture of it running. One click plays it; another takes you straight back to building it.
- Games and websites on separate shelves
- Only projects that actually run make the shelf
- Nothing leaves your machine
Watch
See it running.
